認識及接受自我的限制
Excerpt from Richard Foster's Celebration of Discipline

One reality must be clearly understood in the life of service. The very fact that we are finite means that to say 'yes' to one task of necessity means saying 'no' to other tasks.

The point is that we are not omnipresent and we should admit as much. The Discipline of service asks us to serve irrespective of class or status distinctions, but it also recognizes our human limitations. Love is a reasoned concern for the wellbeing of all. If I bring people into my home under the supposition that I am serving them, but in the process I destroy my wife and children, I am not living in love. Most likely I am merely gratifying my egocentric need to feel righteous rather than entering into true service. Admittedly the balance is not easy to maintain - significant matters in life seldom are. That is the reason for the discipline: remember, the disciplined person is the person who can do what needs to be done when it needs to be done.

Discernment and obedience are the keys.
