“The story is the most adult form of language, the most serious form into which language can be put.” (Eugene Peterson)
(二) “明白聖經” 並非讀經最終目的
上帝不單期望我們明白祂的說話。上帝藉著祂的說話模造我們,使我們的生命改變,變得越來越像祂。一本法典、教科書、用家手冊不可能模造我們,改變我們的生命。
聖經為何能夠改變生命?
(應當如何讀聖經?)
(一) 需要我們投入 (Engage)
投入:按著作品的文体、歷史背景、文學風格來經歷、消化、和欣賞這套作品。
不會亂問一些愚蠢的問題 (例:與作品的文体對立的問題)。
(二) 邀請我們內住 (Indwell)
由拷問者變成聆聽者。讓上帝透過聖經問你問題。這是一個 two-way conversation。
This is my story:發現原來自己才是故事的主角。
當故事的世界進入你的生活世界,你的世界觀、價值觀、人際關係、與神的關係就會漸漸被改變。
For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart. (Hebrews 4:12)
當你聽到上帝透過聖經問你問題的時候,你才明白聖經何以是一把連靈與魂也能剖開的武器。
原來不是你要檢聖經,而是聖經要檢你。
(三) 要求我們即時演譯 (Improvise)
毫無保留地投入於故事當中,充分了解原著的精神、情節編排、人物性格、主流伏線。
花足夠的時間內住故事當中,直至有信心成為故事的主角。
在人生的舞台上,把角色忠實地、靈活地演譯出來。
The Bible is Not Safe! 因為它能改變你的生命。
明白了聖經是一本怎樣的書,你讀經的態度需要如何作出改變呢?
你願意讓 engage, indwell, improvise 成為你今後讀聖經的 paradigm 嗎?

阿中
thanks for the mp3.
有問題: "Suspension of disbelief" 可以在小說 (fiction) 中成立。 但是聖經中的故事可是真實﹐在我們的空間內發生過的事。
Can we truly 不問一些問題?

Great question.
First, I have deliberately avoided the phrase "suspension of disbelief" in the sermon. In the movie world, the phrase usually refers to the audience's semi-conscious decision to put aside their disbelief and accept a premise as being real for the duration of the movie in order to be entertained. I do not think the Bible ever calls for the readers' suspended disbelief. On the contrary, the Bible presents an alternate reality so real that it invites readers to engage, indwell, and improvise. So "suspension of disbelief" is probably not an apt term in bible reading.
Second, I am not saying that readers should not ask questions. I am saying that there are intelligent questions and there are silly questions. Silly questions are those that are
inconsistent with the genre of the literature. Thus, for example, within the genre of Sci-Fi movies, one would not protest about engine noise made by a galuxy cruiser in outer space. The Enterprise travels through sub-space at warp speed zooms past the camera with great engine sound effect. X-wing fighters on bomb run do the same. So do the Battlestar Galactica, Aliens spaceships etc. Almost all spacecrafts in this movie genre make engine noise in deep space. This has perhaps become a convention in SiFi movies. Thus we typically do not ask such questions within this movie genre.
Same is true in Bible reading. Silly questions are those that VIOLATES the genre of the studied passage. Intelligent questions respect the genre.

李天命一句講晒: "最大問題在於看不出所謂的問題其實不成問題"
我鍾意你個星戰比喻, 簡直一矢中的. 多謝!
